This is an estimate. The goal is to be consistent and transparent, not perfectly precise.
- Material = (g × (1 + waste%)) / 1000 × price per kg
- Electricity = (W / 1000) × hours × rate per kWh
- Depreciation = (printer cost ÷ lifetime hours) × hours
- Labor = (labor minutes / 60) × labor rate per hour
- Base cost = material + electricity + depreciation + labor + overhead
- Suggested price = base cost × (1 + margin%)
Power draw varies a lot (bed temperature, enclosure, ambient temp, print speed). If you can, measure average watts for a typical job and use that.
The optional G-code upload uses a heuristic to estimate time and filament. Prefer slicer-reported values if you have them.
